Functionality is just as important as aesthetics when it comes to repairing damaged or unsightly teeth. We offer ceramic crowns, bridges, and veneers, which are safe, durable, and have a natural look and feel.
Crowns
A dental crown (or cap) is used to cover a tooth that has become discoloured, cracked, broken, over filled, or has lost its filling. Your dentist will generally recommend crowns for teeth which are heavily filled, whereby the filling is more than half of the tooth. Crowns are also recommended in cases where underlying cracks are at risk of splitting the tooth, or you have had a root canal treatment for the tooth. Crowns are ideal to increase the longevity of compromised teeth.
Bridges
A bridge is used to cover the gap caused by a missing or extracted tooth. The teeth at either side of the gap act as an anchor for crowns which have a ceramic tooth fused in-between. Bridges are ideal for cases where the adjacent teeth require crown management as well. They require specific cleaning techniques which your dentist will discuss with you if you decide to proceed with this treatment option.
Veneers
A veneer is a method of covering a tooth to improve aesthetics such as
discolouration, a crack, or a chip. Veneers can also be a good option for people whose front teeth overlap as it can help produce a flawless smile. Veneers can either be completed with porcelain (indirect technique) or can be done directly with composite resin (bonded facings). There are advantages and disadvantages of both options (including cost, staining, longevity, biological health, etc). It would be best to have a consultation with a dental professional to see which would be best suited to your specific needs.
